Something for all

A winter holiday at Chalet Gove is perfect for small groups and families and is suitable for all abilities and for non-skiers too.

For complete beginners…

We know that skiing or boarding especially for beginners can be very daunting. So, we are here to…
• Give advice on the equipment and clothing required.

• Take you and help you get the equipment you need.

• Book lessons for you.

• Take you to your lesson starting point.

• Ensure you know where to go for lunch.

• Provide advice on where to ski and board.

For those who have skied before…

We offer the same service as for beginners and for those of you not requiring lessons we can advise on the best ski / board areas for your ability and ski at least a morning with you at each new ski area to show you round.

The Lungau ski area is an intermediate’s paradise with lots of lovely wide slopes interspersed with some steeper challenging runs. There are lots of long tree lined slopes helping to keep the snow and visibility good.

For those wanting more of a challenge we have black runs to test you, lots of safe off-piste skiing / boarding and ski-touring.

For non skiers/boarders

Guests are welcome to relax in the lounge during the day and use the media facilities, or use the dining room if they have work to do, or simply step outside and enjoy a snowy walk in our Lessach valley.

Away from the Chalet there are a variety of activities available, such as a visit to the beautiful swimming pool and spa down in Tamsweg or a visit to one of the castles or museums. There are plenty of walks available to, or at, the ski areas allowing you to meet up with skiing members of your group for lunch on the slopes or après-ski at the end of the day, or you can simply ride one of the ski lifts enabling you to take in the wonderful views whilst sipping a mug of Glühwein at one of the mountain restaurants, warming you for the journey back down . see other winter activities

Getting to and from the slopes

We’re not slope side, which is reflected in our prices, but as one of our guests commented we provide a ‘virtual ski in ski out’ experience. We arrange daily transport to and from the slopes at a time that suits the group, with additional drop offs and pickups during the day if required.

Prior to leaving for the slopes you’ll put on your boots in the comfort of our large equipment room (where all your equipment, boots, skis, jackets, helmets, gloves etc. can be stored warm and dry) before simply walking through to the garage and stepping into our minibus. Alan will have loaded up your skis / boards and poles for you.

Depending on the resort you’re heading to we’ll drive for 20 to 30 minutes through the scenic Lungau villages to where we park, slope side. All you need to do is get out of the minibus, pick up your equipment from the rear and either ski or walk a few metres to the lift.

When you’re ready to come home, you’ll make the same journey reverse and you’ll be home in no time, ready to relax with a tea or coffee and enjoy our delicious homemade cake.
